VIDEOS: White Mountain Folk Festival 2008

THE White Mountain folk festival is an annual event that takes place near Giant’s Castle in the Central Drakensberg region of Kwa-Zulu Natal from 24-28 September. If you have been to Splashy Fen before, this is basically a mini-version of that whole scene, only with more acoustic-type music and more of a relaxed, family vibe.

This was the third White Mountain festival and the event seems to be growing in popularity. I highly recommend it and suggest booking accommodation in the lodge if you’re not the camping type. It is during the rainy season after all.

Galen (name), meaning: "Curious One". A lover of language, human ingenuity and the forces of the universe. Hugely drawn towards the mysterious and unknown. Regular laughter and escapism essential.

Apologies for putting these up so late – Youtube’s been giving me hassles and wordpress doesn’t seem to accept the embed code from Myvideo. And I do have a day-job!

I also apologise for the poor quality of the third video. I met James on the first day and followed the hippie around for days trying to chat to him. Yet he was always either hung-over or otherwise unfit to talk on camera. I wanted to get him sitting outside his teepee smoking a peace pipe or something :)
